Employee performance remains critical to organisational effectiveness, particularly in the hospitality industry, where service quality and customer satisfaction depend largely on employees' competence and productivity. This study examined the effect of training on employee performance in Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria. Specifically, the study assessed the effect of e-learning and on-the-job mentoring on employee performance. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design and employed a census sampling technique involving all 221 employees of Barcelona Hotel, Abuja. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to the employees. A total of 221 questionnaires were distributed, out of which 205 valid copies were retrieved and used for analysis. Descriptive statistics, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and multiple linear regression were used to analyse the data. Data were coded in Microsoft Excel, and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 supported the analysis. The findings showed that e-learning and on-the-job mentoring positively and significantly affect employee performance, jointly explaining 71.9% of its variance (R² = .719). The study concluded that effective training through e-learning and on-the-job mentoring enhances employee competence, productivity, and overall organisational performance. The study recommended that Barcelona Hotel management strengthen its e-learning initiatives by providing employees with accessible digital learning platforms and continuously improve its on-the-job mentoring programmes to facilitate knowledge transfer, skill development, and improved service delivery.
