This research work was a conceptual discussion on the strategic framing of the promotion of nutrition messages in school feeding programs in Osun State. It investigated the role of a good nutrition communication strategy as a precursor to feeding programmes to reinforce nutritional knowledge and practices, to stimulate the desired child health to achieve the school feeding initiative. In executing this, a qualitative, non-empirical case study research method, through document review, with evidence collected from relevant textbooks, policy papers, and academic journals, was examined. This led to the conclusion that the communication strategies for disseminating nutrition messages in schools on proper dietary habits are an integral part and parcel of the intervention programme. Challenges encountered included: shortage of funding, lack of clear-cut interaction amongst institutions and discrepancies in dissemination of nutrition messages. The work concluded the desirability of reforming the strategy that informs health-promoting activities contained in nutrition campaigns.
